(THIS ITEM IS ALSO IN OUR ARTIC FUN AREA).
It took an SLP to come up with this one!
Do you have students in groups together, each working on different sounds? Or are you looking for one set of game boards that you can use with three different goal sounds?
CHECK THIS OUT!
These game boards can be used equally for the /s/ OR the /r/ OR the /l/ sound!
ALL THE PICTURES FOR THESE 3 DIFFERENT SOUNDS ARE RIGHT ON THE GAMEBOARDS!!
The 20-move game boards feature the Artic Stimulus Pictures right on them! Most of the stimulus pictures chosen for these items have multiple target sounds in them.
These game boards allows the student working on /s/ to find over 20 words to ‘say and move up’ on their turn while their partners with either the /r/ OR the /l/ as their target sound can also find over 20 words that have their sound in them! Students with any of those three sounds as their target can practice their sounds while they play these game boards together!
Some of the words have only one of the sounds, while others have two or even all three of the sounds. This activity may also help to enhance the student's Phonemic Awareness of their sound in words. The students have to descriminate which of the stimulus pictures has their sound as they sound them all out searching for the words that can move them up on their turn. Sounds appear in varied positions.
HERE ARE JUST A FEW GAME USE IDEAS! (Dependent on ability level of individual) No extra picture cards are needed! All the pictures are right on the game boards!
1. Find and say: Find a word on the page with your target sound, say it and move up.
2. Make a sentence: Combine two or three of the words on the page that have your sounds into a sentence and move up.
3. COLORS MATTER: When you land on one type color square, such as blue, you have to say the word two times. Another color means you have to say the word three times etc.
4. FINGER POWER: Put your thumb on the game square space and say any words you can touch with your finger that has your sound before moving up.
