FOUR Find and Match Phonemic Awareness/Artic Fun SpeechPages!

Each of these SpeechPages contains over 3 dozen picture pairs (that is over 72 pictures on each page!) One page each for the common speech target sounds of /s/, /r/, /l/ and /k/. The pictures on these pages have the target sound in the initial, medial, final or blend positions.

They can be used in many ways as a very concentrated source of sound stimulus pictures, allowing your students to have fun and be motivated to practice their sounds.


HERE ARE JUST SOME USAGE SUGGESTION:

1: Hunt and Find Them All
In this game the student gives the name of any picture and then tries to find it's identical match on the page. Check off with crayon until all pairs are found and sounds have been practice dozens of times!

2: Position Color Check
For phonemic awareness the student may be asked to first look for all the picture words on the page that have the target sound in the initial position, check with one color crayon, then find the words with it in the medial position and then the final position of the word checking off with other colors. (Each of these Find and Match SpeechPages has the target sound in all three positions and blends).

3: Hand Span Count
The student puts their thumb on any picture and uses their finger to touch and name surrounding pictures without moving their thumb off of the first one. Count how many are able to be reached and see if another try will result in even more.

4: Sentence Connect
The Student starts their crayon on a picture and connects to other pictures without crossing over another, creating a sentence with the words connected. Use a new color for the next sentence until all words are used up.

A wipe-off marker or even a crayon can be used to keep track of the pairs of target words identified. (Just wipe off and reuse any SpeechPage- they are always laminated).
