These introductory level Augmentative/Alternative Communication (AAC) request pages are designed to give many students with Autism or developmental disability both a reason to communicate and a way how to communicate. The intended purpose is to prepare the client for generalization of needed expressive communication outside of the Speech Therapy session and in functional real-life situations.

Each page has pictures of common vocabulary Functional themes such as clothes to get dressed with or snack time choices!
An example of usage might be the Clinician holding onto the pictures needed to complete the SpeechPage collection. There remains on the emptied SpeechPage, a lighter image of the needed picture. The student is to request the item they need to collect from the therapist to fill up the missing spots on their SpeechPage. They can communicate this request in whatever mode of communication that they have established, whether it be vocal, picture exchange or pointing (using the included EXACTLY matching picture symbols which are provided and attached with Velcro to the bottom of each SpeechPage). These velcro backed laminated picture symbols could also be attached with more velcro (Sold Separately) to an overlay or light-activated communication device or velcro communication binder.
This set is designed so that the motivation to complete the picture item collection from scenes of their day encourages the student to create expressive communication messages on their own. The daily life items pictured allows for a means of functional "Intro to AAC" practice in a controlled structured therapy session. The laminated picture symbols velcroed onto each of these SpeechPages can be presented one at a time or combined with more depending on the students ability.
Four different AAC Requesting Intro Activity for picture collection are included.
each has SIX velcro Picture Symbols and SIX velcro request-pictures!
An additional "Usage Suggestion" Page is also included!
NOTE: The qualified Clinician using this product should have a familiarity with Alternative/Augmentative Communication systems and exchange of communication symbols as a method of communication. Not all clients are capable of using specific forms of AAC.
